It is regarded as a cultural event handed down through generation until the present day.\nThis celebration includes religious ceremonies like Alms Offering watering of the Buddha Statue and other ways of merit making. The ceremony emphasizes moral virtues\, such as gratitude and respect to senior persons. It is symbolically “The Day of Gratitude” to give honor to those in seniority.\nThe Chairperson for this year festival\,  President of Ceremony is sponsoring the Songkran 2019 Festivities and her / his honorary committees would like to invite all to attend this year Songkran Festival\nPROGRAM\n09:00 AM Homage to the Lord Buddha (Somdet Phra Bhumintaramahamongkol)\nAll guests are welcome to pay homage to Somdetphranawamintarasasda and Congregation prepares “donation trees” (Papah) for presentation as contributions to the fund for building a new temple.\n10:30 AM Homage to the Triple Gem\nPresident of ceremonies lights candles and joss sticks in honor of the Buddha\,the Dharma and the Sangha and leads the congregation in requesting the Five Precepts from the Sangha.\nHead monk gives and congregation receives the Five Precepts.\nPresident asks the Sangha for blessings.\nThe Sangha blesses the congregation.\n10:45 AM Congregation collects offerings in appreciation of the sermon and\nPresents the collection\, the Papah.\nHomage and conclusion of ceremonies.\nPresident thanks the congregation for their participation.\nHead monk blesses the congregation. The other monks join in extending the blessings. The congregation receives the blessing.\n11:00 AM Offering of alms (tak baht) to the monks\n11:30 AM Offering of lunch to monks / Congregation also partakes of lunch.\nStudents of the Sunday School perform traditional Thai dances.\n12:00 PM Sermon on the Dharma\nDhammadesana(Dhamma Talk presented in Thai by a monk).\nOffering Ceremony of flowers\, candles and incense in connection\nwith Songkran Festival (dedication of merit to the ancestors)\n12:30 PM Ceremony for paying tribute to monks and the elders.
